I'm an avid Youtube watcher. I love watching beauty videos, and when fall comes around I get so excited because everyone starts posting all sorts of different autumnal videos. This probably has something to do with the fact that Fall is my favourite time of the year. It's my birthday, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and it becomes socially acceptable to wear big knit sweaters and a nearly black lip. With all that being said, recently on Youtube, most of my favourite YouTubers have been doing the Fall Favourites Tag (recently created/brought back by the ever so fabulous Jaclyn Hill). Because I've been wanting to do this tag so badly, I decided to do a blog post on it. So welcome to my first ever Autumn Edit: the Fall Favourites Tag!
1) Your Favourite Candle:
This by far has to be Pumkpin Cupcake by Bath and Body Works. There are so many amazing scents to choose from, and it was definitely hard to pick just one, but I'm just loving Pumpkin Cupcake. It's got a spicy cinnamon scent, along with a not too strong sweet scent, and finally a dash of pumpkin. This candle will make any room smell deliciously like fall!
2) Favourite Lip Colour:
I'm sure I'll be posting more about this lip colour, seeing as it is one of my favourites for the fall, but I'll first introduce it to you here first. Black Cherry by Revlon (number 477) is the most beautiful deep, dark red. It has a bit of a brown undertone, and is simply a beautiful touch to any fall outfit. I absolutely love it, and wear it at least weekly, if not more.
Warning: Because this colour is so dark, and can be a little patchy. I would recommend lining and filling in your lips with a brown lip liner (which I like to do) or a dark red. This also will prevent the colour from bleeding!
3) Favourite Fall Drink:
My favourite fall drink has got to be the Salted Caramel Mocha (or hot chocolate). Starbucks makes a great one, but most coffee shops carry a similar drink come this time of the year. Soon I will be posting another blog post on how to make your very own, because it becomes a staple of mine when the weather gets cold, and being the poor university student I am, I can't afford a Mocha from Starbucks every morning (sadly).
4) Favourite Blush:
Unfortunately I don't have the largest blush collection, but one I have been loving so far is Flushed by E.L.F cosmetics. I got it in a free gift with purchase on the E.L.F website, and am really impressed with the product. It took me a little bit of time to get used to using it, because it is extremelly pigmented, but now that I have a routine that works for me, I absolutely love the colour. It gives my cheeks the most beautiful flush of pink (see what I did there) and I find is perfect for the fall. It's also really cheap which is a great bonus!
5) Favourite Fall Clothing Item:
I love anything and everything knit. I know this is technically cheating, but I just couldn't choose. I love knit cardigans, knit sweaters, knit scarves, knit headbands, and knit hats (or beanies). Basically, when summer turns into fall, my wardrobe turns into a big mass of knit clothing. As I'm typing this I'm wearing a purple knit sweater (that I got for under $10 at Ricki's on their sale wrack!).
6) Favourite Movie:
My favourite fall movie has got to be Beetlejuice. I think this became my favourite because my sister and cousin used to love this movie when we were younger, and because they were older than me I thought that if I loved it too it would make me seem older and cooler. This was 100% not the case (it just ended up scaring me), but nevertheless, Beetlejuice has stuck with me throughout all these years. It's such a classic, and really brings back a bunch of memories from my childhood. BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE, BEETLEJUICE!
7) Favourite TV show:
September and October is the time of year where all the best TV show's come back with new seasons. I am so looking forward to watching Arrow. I started watching Arrow this time last year on Netflix, because my brother was (is) obsessed. I could not get enough, and followed the third season weekly while living in residence last year. Season 4 starts tonight, and I cannot wait to see what is to come!
8) Favourite Thanksgiving Food:
This was so hard, because really I just love the whole Thanksgiving meal, but I ended up deciding on gravy. Now, I know what you're thinking, and I agree. Gravy is the weirdest choice, but I'll tell you why I chose gravy. I chose it because I love drenching all my favourites in gravy. Mashed potatoes, stuffing, and turkey all get soaked in gravy and makes the meal even more amazing.
9) Favourite Halloween Costume:
This was hard, because if I'm being completely honest, I don't remember many of my past Halloween costumes. I'm pretty sure one year (when I was, like, a very young child) I was dressed up as McDonald's fries. It was super cute, but I didn't get to choose that costume seeing as I was so little, so I'm going to say that doesn't count. Recently though, in my senior year of high school, my friend and I dressed up as Autumn and Winter (I was winter). We made our own crowns, and dressed up in clothes that represented said season. It wasn't the best costume (thinking back I have so many ideas to make it better) but I think it was super creative and I really did have fun planning it with my friend.
And voilà! My Fall Favourites! Just because I'm not a YouTuber (yet) does not mean that they get to have all the fun! Leave me a comment letting me know of all your fall favourites below!
